Cyberaudit Targets Oregon State Police A recent audit by a division of the Oregon Secretary of State’s office found holes in the cybersecurity practices of the Oregon State Police (OSP). The report said the agency lacked “basic cybersecurity safeguards,” owing in part to staff and resource deficiencies, including a lack of stable technical leadership since 2014. A spokesperson for the OSP said it will use the audit as a baseline to improve its cybersecurity posture. Help Wanted: Contact Tracers Governments across the country are looking to staff up in a critical area at a time when many Americans are looking for work. A free training course recently made available online aims to train people to become contact tracers – a new term gaining ground as the U.S. moves into the next phase of its COVID-19 response. The six-hour course comes courtesy of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and New York state is the first to require the course for its statewide program.
