Liebe Leser*innen, niemand mag Überraschungen bei Brücken. Beispiele wie die Rader Hochbrücke oder die Rheinquerung bei Wiesbaden haben gezeigt: Plötzlich auftretende Ermüdungserscheinungen verursachen extreme und sehr, sehr langwierige Störungen. So etwas möchten wir bei der Friesenbrücke, die den Theodor-Heuss-Ring (THR) über die Bahngleise bringt, lieber nicht erleben. Und damit das nicht passiert, bekommt nun auch die zweite Hälfte der Brücke eine umfassende Sanierung. Der erste Teil ist zum Glück schon im Vorjahr erledigt worden. Über diesen neuen Teil fließt dann - jeweils einspurig - der Verkehr in beiden Richtungen. Und wenn der Verkehr ohnehin umgelenkt werden muss, dann liegen die Strecken vor und hinter Friesenbrücke still und können gleich mitsaniert werden. Danach ist hier hoffentlich viele Jahre lang Ruhe. In den ersten Julinächten wird diese Baustelle eingerichtet, dann heißt es bis Oktober wieder: Geduld haben und geschickt ausweichen, zeitlich und örtlich. Immer erreichbar bleiben die Gewerbegebiete. Etwas aufwändiger ist die Reise Richtung Ostring/Ostufer, wenn man von der A215 oder von der B404 kommt. Weil man vom THR gerade nicht einfach rechts Richtung Ostring abfahren kann, gehen die Umleitungsempfehlungen durch die Innenstadt (U69 von der A215) oder über den Wellseedamm (von der B404), und dann jeweils über die Preetzer Straße. Von der Bahnhofstraße und von der Sörensenstraße aus kommt man aber wie gewohnt bis zum Ostring. Immerhin hat diese Straßensanierung noch ein ungewöhnliches Fahr-Erlebnis parat: Vom Theodor-Heuss-Ring Richtung Kronsburg, Moorsee, Meimersdorf und zur A21 können Sie dann Kiels gekrümmteste Brücke, den sogenannten Überflieger, in der anderen Richtung befahren.
