FACE OF AMERICA LIBERTY REGISTRATION IS OPEN! If you have ridden our annual Face of America to Gettysburg, World T.E.A.M. Sports has a new inclusive bicycle and hand cycle ride which should interest you. If you are new to World T.E.A.M. Sports, our Face of America rides are a great way to get involved with our inclusive non-profit organization. Our new Face of America Liberty, from the United States Military Academy at West Point to the World Trade Center in Manhattan, debuts on Sunday, October 8. You are invited to join us! Registration is now open online. Presented by Northwell Health with sponsorship support by Cannondale, Hickory & Tweed, Hilton Capital Management, Penske Truck Rentals and ProVetus, Liberty follows the scenic Hudson River south of the Academy and passes through scenic Bear Mountain State Park and many small communities in New York and New Jersey. Riders will pedal about 54 miles in one day. The ride includes a short ferry ride across the Hudson River that leads to an inspiring final segment along Manhattan's west side to the World Trade Center.

Space is limited, so complete your registration early. You'll not want to miss out on what will become a new fall tradition for World T.E.A.M. Sports athletes. Registration for all athlete and volunteer categories excepting adaptive athletes and ride marshals is open. Adaptive athletes can complete today our online application to be invited to participate. Ride marshals must coordinate with Ciaran Carruthers, our chief marshal, for a position on the marshal team. Registration fees and minimum fundraising for each athlete category is very reasonable - only $50 per rider registration, with $150 to $300 in fundraising, depending on the category. Participants receive lunch and snacks at rest stops, along with a Face of America Liberty jersey. There is free parking at West Point for athletes. Optional tickets for the return bus to West Point are available for $25 during registration. |

ADAPTIVE ATHLETES AT FACE OF AMERICA LIBERTY Adaptive athletes on standard upright, hand cycles and recumbent bicycles are encouraged to participate in the October 8 Face of America Liberty ride to Manhattan. Athletes can include military veterans and civilians with disabilities. World T.E.A.M. Sports has opened an online qualification questionnaire for interested adaptive athletes to complete for positions in this inaugural event. This questionnaire will be open until we have reached our category limit. Following completion of the application, qualified athletes will be contacted by email message to register using a special web address. For this year's ride, approximately 30 athletes will be selected.

Though adaptive athletes receive complimentary registration and have no minimum fundraising requirement, each athlete will be fully responsible for their own personal transportation arrangements and costs to and from West Point, New York, in addition to any potential overnight lodging on Saturday or Sunday evenings. Our PDF-format adaptive athlete expense guidelines can be downloaded for review. |

ENTERING THE UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY Athletes and volunteers participating in World T.E.A.M. Sports' Face of America Liberty bicycle ride will need to enter the United States Military Academy at West Point to reach the north parking lot for Buffalo Soldier Field. This is the starting point for the ride and the site of the Sunday morning rider check-in, as well as the location for vehicle parking.

As an active military facility, all persons entering the facility will need to be on a registration list which World T.E.A.M. Sports will provide to the Academy's security team on or about October 5. The Academy requires an active driver's license or passport number to enter. (A few other sources of identification also can be used, contact us for details.) During your personal registration process, this information can be included. If you do not include this specific information, or if you provide incorrect or false information, you will be denied entry to the facility and miss out on the ride. There are no exceptions to this policy. Learn more about entering the Academy. |
