1844 - It is recorded in many testimonial statements and personal histories that during the afternoon meeting, Brigham Young was transfigured and had the appearance and voice of the Prophet Joseph while he was speaking. The transfiguration was a witness to many that the mantle of Joseph had fallen upon Brigham Young and he was the Lord's choice to lead the Church in the absence of Joseph Smith.
