Information for media coverage of 75th World Health Assembly

“Health for Peace, Peace for health" is the theme for the 75th World Health Assembly (WHA) which will run 22-28 May, 2022.

WHA75 will kick off with a high-level session on 22 May, with speeches from the elected WHA president, Heads of States, special guests, the address by the WHO Director-General and the presentation of DG health awards.

The World Health Assembly is WHO’s highest decision-making body, setting out the Organization’s policy and approving its budget. WHA is attended by delegations from all WHO 194 Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board, which will meet on 18-20 May.
WHA75 will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva and will be open to Member States, to Associate Members, Observers, invited representatives of the UN and other participating inter-governmental organizations and non-State actors.

The appointment of the next WHO Director-General will take place during WHA75.

Journalists who wish to attend the World Health Assembly and who are NOT accredited to the United Nations should get media accreditation from the United Nations Information Service using the following INDICO registration platform:
