A New Brighton man who admitted being part of the far-right Boogaloo Bois militia group pleaded guilty to a federal terrorism charge in court Tuesday. 31-year-old Michael Robert Solomon got on the FBI's radar last year, when he was seen carrying a gun at the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis. Solomon admitted trying to sell weapons to a member of the Middle East militant group Hamas, who turned out to be an FBI informant. Solomon and a co-defendant from North Carolina face up to 20 years in prison. New COVID-19 vaccinations fell to their lowest point since February in the latest data from the Minnesota Department of Health.
State officials reported just over 4,100 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines delivered in the latest numbers — not even a quarter of the recent average of people initially seeking vaccines. And while Tuesdays usually represent a low point in the weekly cycle of COVID data, the latest numbers are a steep decline from the previous four weeks. The first dose figure hasn't been this low since the last week in February. An MPR analysis of the numbers suggests it is the strongest sign yet that demand for vaccines is softening across the state.
