Accused Oxford shooter ruled a ‘menace’ to other juveniles, will remain in adult jail pending trials The attorney for Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old accused of killing four students during an active shooter incident at Oxford High School on Nov. 30, argued he is not “a menace to other juveniles” in a court hearing Monday. The argument came as Attorney Paulette Loftin requested her client be moved from the adult Oakland County Jail to the county’s juvenile facility. Presiding Oakland County District Judge Nancy T. Carniak denied the request. In order for a juvenile offender to be jailed in an adult prison, they must be considered “a menace to other juveniles,” according to state law. Park officials today announced that the Upper Peninsula park will be implementing visitor fees starting March 1, 2022. Additionally, camping fees and lighthouse tour fees will increase as of January 1, 2022. The park had proposed new and increased fees earlier this year, citing infrastructure strains due to the increase in visitors over the past decade.
