The number of vehicles without license plates on Michigan roads are conspicuously multiplying. That’s because new owners say they're waiting months to get one. Motorists are “desperate” for better service from Secretary of State branches amid ongoing backlogs that have forced motorists to drive illegally as they wait months for an appointment, said state Rep. Pat Outman, R-Six Lakes, who chairs the House Oversight Committee. Outman himself purchased a vehicle in March and in April began trying to schedule an appointment to buy a new plate. The soonest he could secure one was four months away. The adverse reactions were out of more than 6.8 million recipients, but regulators said they paused its use “out of an abundance of caution.” In the four weeks since federal regulators and health experts gave the green light to resume use of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine across the country, Michigan has administered more than 42,000 doses.
