Union leaders say they are coming closer to a deal
| March 24, 2022 The teachers strike in Minneapolis may be nearing an end. Both teachers' and education support professionals 'chapters of the union, on strike since March 8, reported progress Thursday in talks with the district. The Minneapolis Federation of Teachers President Greta Callahan and the ESP chapter President Shawn Layden both said they were very close to getting to a deal. Layden called the talks the most hopeful he's seen since the strike began. The teacher deal could come today. The biggest sticking point now is salaries for teachers — they're asking for a 3 percent raise.
