Nikki Haley Former Ambassador Nikki Haley penned an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal this week going on a tear against “the anti-Trump media" that was an implicit response to a recent Politico profile on her. None of that won her any favor with Donald Trump, however, who reportedly turned down Haley's request for a meeting. The various hot and cold takes from Haley prompted a blistering one from CNN's Brianna Keilar on Thursday. Improprieties The Lincoln Project is not saying whether any of the attorneys it hired to investigate allegations against co-founder John Weaver have previously donated to the group. "Terrified" A Democratic New York legislator is opening up about the threats he says he received from Gov. Andrew Cuomo which left his family “terrified.” “For 10 minutes he berated me,” Kim said on Morning Joe. He also told the hosts that Cuomo "threatens your livelihood if you don’t lie for him." New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told Morning Joe that this kind of bullying by the governor is "nothing new." Death Wars Rush Limbaugh’s death prompted a gusher of reactions from devastated fans and elated critics. Others pushed back against the former. Still others against the latter. That Escalated Quickly Thursday’s hearing of the House Financial Services Committee kicked off with flare as its chair, Rep. Maxine Waters interrupted Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev to ask that he “limited” time to “speak directly.” Tenev used the first 30 seconds of his opening remarks to describe his background, prompting Waters to interject. “Mr. Tenev, I would like you to use your limited time to talk directly to what happened on January 28, and your involvement in it,” she demanded. MSNBC Needs to Part Ways With the Lincoln Project OPINION Of all the endless breathless, shamelessly adulating media coverage lavished on the now-shamed and imploding Lincoln Project, none was so thoroughly involved as that of MSNBC. More than mere reporting or even repetition, MSNBC made the group’s principals into regular guests and paid contributors. MSNBC can never erase the fact that it was strategically instrumental to the disgraced political action committee’s fortune that siphoned nearly $90 million from credulous anti-Trump voters during the 2020 presidential election. But the liberal network still has a chance to sever ties with the group, and anyone associated with it, before things get worse. And make no mistake: Things almost certainly will get worse.
