Click here * Celebrating International Day of Peace 2020 * Dear Skateistan supporters, We couldn't be happier that all our Skate Schools are currently open and students are once again able to enjoy their space. We're so proud of all of our students for maintaining their positive vibes no matter what, and for adapting so well to the circumstances. All students have been learning how to take part in programs, while maintaining social distance and proper hygiene rules. Celebrating International Day of Peace 2020 The idea of peace carries different weight in different contexts. For our students in Afghanistan, many of whom have been directly affected by conflict, their dream of peace is a country no longer at war. In South Africa, the idea of peace may center more around finding a safe space, feeling safe within your city, or developing the skills to feel an inner calm. Celebrating Heritage Day in South Africa 24 September was Heritage Day in South Africa. South Africa is a nation made up of many different ethnic groups and it’s really important for our students to celebrate their own heritage as well as to learn about and appreciate the heritage of others. This year, students and staff alike dressed in the traditional dress of their heritage, and celebrated at Skateistan. Looking to get more involved?
