Many employers are keeping workers home A survey by Willis Towers Watson in mid-February found nearly half of the 158 businesses included are implementing plans for remote work because of the coronavirus outbreak. Employers such as Merck, Twitter and Salesforce already have implemented plans, and many employers are restricting travel or canceling nonessential events. Chipotle Mexican Grill will test unlimited paid time off for its approximately 130 senior staffers, and will evaluate the program before deciding whether to offer it to more employees, the company said. Bill would give employees paid sick leave Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., have introduced a bill requiring employers to offer an additional 14 days of paid sick leave during a public health emergency.
