What Happened In Aviation 25 Years Ago? | | October 21, 1996 A French court was analyzing bids from suitors offering to acquire ailing French airline, Air Liberte and were scheduled to make a decision on the carrier’s fate early next week. In the week before, British Airways, Virgin Express, Nouvelles Frontieres and a group of French investors submitted offerings to the Creteil Court. Orly airport, where Air Liberte is based, is under Creteil’s jurisdiction.
