CRC Daily: Special Holiday Edition | In observance of the December holidays and New Year’s festivities, the CRC team is releasing a special, jam-packed enewsletter this week in lieu of daily issues. We’ll resume normal publication of Credentialing Resource Center Daily and Credentialing Resource Center Digest beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Keeping with the holiday spirit, this special issue features stories, tips, and tools that emphasize collaboration and comradery. If you haven’t done so already, send your professional aspirations, inspirations, predictions, plans, and advice for the year ahead to Editor Delaney Rebernik at drebernik@hcpro.com, and you could see your resolutions featured on CRC’s site and social channels. From all of us on the CRC team, happy holidays and best of luck in 2017. | |
Featured Stories, Tips, and Tools | Three Cs can drive organizationwide success | Communication, cooperation, and collaboration are essential. Why are these three seemingly straightforward concepts—especially communication—so very difficult in many health systems? |
Free resource: Sample dispute resolution policy | When a professional dispute arises, the last thing you want to discover is an ill-defined (or nonexistent) path toward resolution. Having a clear policy in place that identifies who will lead dispute resolution and what specific steps must be taken removes a lot of uncertainty from the equation. It also leads to a faster and, hopefully, more satisfying resolution. The policy and related process should be vetted through the medical staff and administrative leadership. It should also be widely communicated, easily accessible, and reviewed annually. |
Tip: Remember the golden rule | Although MSPs consider quality care a driving focus, they don’t always devote the same energy to collaborating with colleagues in the quality department. This incongruity can be counterproductive. Poor alignment between quality and medical staff services personnel can undermine overlapping duties and shared goals, including those surrounding care. |

New Members-Only Content | Spend more quality time | Although MSPs consider quality care a driving focus, they don’t always devote the same energy to collaborating with colleagues in the quality department. This incongruity can be counterproductive. Poor alignment between quality and medical staff services personnel can undermine overlapping duties and shared goals, including those surrounding care. |
Eight tips for selecting the right credentialing software | Are you considering a change in your credentialing software or a move to an automated system? Modern medical staff services departments are increasingly turning to technologies that allow MSPs and other credentialing stakeholders across the organization to go paperless; house large volumes of quality data in a centralized, searchable, and secure location; facilitate virtual committee meetings; purchase managed care modules; trend initial and reappointment turnaround times; and more. |
Radial artery harvesting - Procedure 87 | Radial artery harvesting (RAH) is the process of removing the radial artery, located in the arm, for use as an arterial graft during coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). During CABG, a healthy artery or vein is used as a graft to route the blood supply around the blocked coronary artery, restoring normal blood flow to the heart. This healthy vessel must be harvested from another part of the body, such as the patient’s chest, leg, or arm. |
