Our office is closed for the holiday, but if you've some time to reflect... we've got some stories for you to consider. What sticks in my mind as I see our Memorial Day parade preparations underway, and the flags waving and walking down the street, is the cynical patriotism that's used to sell investment newsletters -- the "you're a patriot, so you should deserve free checks" pitch that is used so often to lure those of us who are desperately searching for a little extra income... if you've been tempted by the newsletter ads that include waving flags and appeals to your patriotism, hold on tight to your wallet and check out a few of our examples... we've covered lots of stories over the past few months that touch on this, ads promising "U.S. Freedom Checks," "Liberty Vouchers," "Liberty Checks"and"Trump Bonus Checks" ... and, of course, when you sift through the hype none of these are really "you get free money because you love your country" stories. So be careful out there. And, as usual, if you missed any of our stories or Thinkolator answers last week... just read on! |
