| NRB denounces ‘critical theory,’ labels it ‘anti-Christian’ | | The National Religious Broadcasters Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution that denounces critical theory during its annual convention on Tuesday. Saying that the theory advances "anti-Christian" ideals, the resolution states, "Critical theory advances the erosion of shared history and values, the yielding of human agency to tyranny, the supremacy of mob rule, and the deterioration of family and community bonds, producing great human suffering and alienation from truth." The trade association, which represents conservative-leaning media organizations, also urged "Christian leaders to reject anti-Christian cultural systems that hold out salvation apart from Christ, oppose the influence of critical theory in education, academia, Christian ministry, and Bible teaching, and faithfully apply historic truths of Scripture to contemporary cultural issues.” | | Pence at Ukraine border: We're standing with you in prayer | | Former Vice President Mike Pence and wife Karen Pence traveled to the Poland-Ukraine border on Thursday where they met with Ukrainian women and child refugees alongside leaders from Christian charity Samaritan's Purse. Pence tweeted about the meeting, explaining, "2.4 million refugees have already fled Ukraine and nearly 400,000 have already come through the Korczowa (Poland) border crossing." | Plane crash survivors share testimony at church | | A father and daughter who survived a plane crash last year returned to their church for the first time since the accident to share their testimony and meet the first responders who rescued them. Pilot and father Christopher White and 13-year-old daughter Anna were involved in the crash during a snowstorm while on a recreational flight last November. The two sustained several injuries, including a shattered spine for the daughter. In sharing their testimony with Christian Life Assembly in Pennsylvania, Christopher White explained, "God saved my life. The way the plane crashed, the way the branches from the trees grabbed the airplane, the wings got folded back from the energy and they absorbed the speed of the airplane.” Continue reading. |
