A survey from American Student Assistance found that 86% of employees would stay at an organization for five years if the company helped repay student loans, and 92% would enroll in a matching-fund program to pay back loans. The data showed, however, that three-quarters of organizations do not offer programs to help workers repay student loans. Haitian dishwashers awarded settlement over termination Florida hotel SLS South Beach has agreed to pay $2.5 million to settle a lawsuit brought by 17 Haitian dishwashers who allege racially motivated termination and who say chefs called them slaves.
