METRO Another appeal: Disgraced former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora signaled on Wednesday that he intends to make another appeal of his new 23-year prison sentence. Fireworks: Setting off consumer-grade fireworks within Cleveland city limits will continue to be illegal, despite a new state law taking effect July 1 that allows Ohioans to shoot off fireworks on certain holidays, like the Fourth of July. Lawsuit: A man is suing Cuyahoga County after a deputy shot him in the back of the head with a beanbag during the May 30, 2020, protests. In the lawsuit, Adam Ferrise reports Conor O’Boyle says he had his hands up and was walking away from handing water to a demonstrator when he was shot. COVID-19 & HEALTHCARE Good news: Medina County is the highest of three Northeast Ohio counties considered among the top 500 healthiest communities in the country, according to the 2022 U.S. News and World Report Healthiest Communities Rankings.
