De Utrechtse Mensenrechtencoalitie organiseert, in samenwerking met Art.1 Midden Nederland en Gemeente Utrecht, een MensenrechtencaféXL ter gelegenheid van de Internationale Dag van de Mensenrechten. Organisaties en personen die zich inzetten voor het versterken van de Utrechtse mensenrechtencultuur nodigen wij hiervoor graag uit. Bewegingsvrijheid 17.00 DebatGaan-en-staan-waar-je-wil is op straat en in openbare gebouwen niet vanzelfsprekend als je in een rolstoel zit. Surfen op internet klinkt lekker vrij, maar word je ondertussen niet in een digitaal keurslijf gestopt? Als je donkere huid hebt, heb je een meer dan gemiddeld grote kans dat de politie je staande houdt. Voor een gay stel is hand in hand lopen niet overal zondermeer mogelijk. Ook in het onderwijs, op de arbeidsmarkt en over landsgrenzen bewegen we ons niet allemaal even vrij. Waar komen de verschillen vandaan? Wanneer wordt een verschil een beperking? En hoe rekenen we ermee af? Hierover praten we onder leiding van Elisabeth van den Hoogen. Het gesprek wordt geopend door prof.dr. Antoine Buyse, hoogleraar Mensenrechten, directeur van het Mensenrechteninstituut van Universiteit Utrecht (SIM). Daarna werpen vijf mensen een scherpe blik op het thema: Ellen Bijsterbosch van SETUP; Frank Sanders en Thomas Maas van de Wheelchair Mafia; de Utrechtse Shelter City gast Osman A. en Mohammed Anouar van ControleAltDelete. Deze inleiders vormen het panel voor het gesprek. Tot slot spreekt wethouder Kees Diepeveen over bewegingsvrijheid, mensenrechten en de stad. 18.30 Diner 20.00 Voorstelling Funda Müjde speelt haar gloednieuwe show: Funda draait door. Ze geeft prijs hoe ze - na een ernstig ongeluk waardoor ze in een rolstoel belandde - haar levenslust hervond met haar een-emotie-duurt-slechts-90-seconden-theorie. Ze vertelt over de angstige en hilarische momenten in haar reis met de handbike naar Istanbul. Ook haar Turkse roots komen aan bod: ze duikt haar familiegeschiedenis in. 21.30 Café Borrelen en napraten. De toegang is gratis. |
