Download NowThis Week in Washington, D.C.The Biden Administration renewed a 125,000 refugee cap following a letter sent last week from the ERLC and faith-based partner organizations. The news is welcomed as a sign of potential progress in rebuilding our country's refugee resettlement program, which has languished in recent years. As historic displacement continues around the world, the U.S. must be a place of refuge for those fleeing religious persecution. This is part of the pro-life ideal, not an exception to it. What You Need to ReadLisa Misner with Illinois Baptists stand for life as abortions increase in their state “A land of milk and honey.” In Exodus 3:8 God promised the Israelites he would take them out of Egypt where they were enslaved into a land flowing with milk and honey. Since then, the phrase has become synonymous with a place overflowing with abundance or plenty. It’s not how pro-life Christians think of abortion-friendly states as such as Illinois. Hunter Baker with Why Christians should never resort to political violence To fail to acknowledge the problems of human sinfulness and limitation will be to amplify our growing sense of unease. What we must all do, from the highest technocrat, to the most powerful policymaker, to the corporate analyst, to the blue collar worker, to the church member, to the father or mother, is to be humble in our recognition of what we can really know and what we can really do. Jill Nelson with Helping our children answer the most important questions Because there is only one true God and because he is more spectacular than a thunderstorm or anything else, there are certain ways you should act toward him—right and wrong ways to respond. You don’t need to guess what these are because, just as the Bible tells us the truth about who God is and what he is like, the Bible also tells us the truth about how all people should act toward God.
