I don’t have much to chat about, so here are some quick hits to start your day: 🌪️ Hurricane Ian tore through central Florida leaving 600,000 homes and businesses in Florida without power and the death toll is over 80 at this point. (For context, Fiona hit Puerto Rico in mid-September and left 127,000 customers without power and had a death toll of 25.) ⚖️ Monday was the first day of a brand new session of the Supreme Court! This was also newly appointed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s first day. See what big, precedent-busting decisions are on the docket here. 🤫 Psst! | Utah volunteers ‘always answer the call for help’ |

| | The Covid-19 pandemic slowed volunteering across the nation, but Utahns — who are the #1 state in the country when it comes to volunteering — are never slow to heed the call for help. Volunteers are an incredible resources for non-profits and community programs. While many organizations saw a decline in volunteer hours and charitable donations, they are starting to get back to pre-pandemic levels. | Are parents disciplining their kids enough? This question is perennially on the mind of many U.S. adults when asked about the challenges the modern American family faces.
