More than 1 in 5 workers globally and more than 1 in 3 workers in the Americas have experienced at least one incident of workplace violence or harassment, according to a survey by the UN International Labor Organization, the Lloyd's Register Foundation and Gallup. The survey, which covers 75,000 workers in 121 countries or territories, identifies young people, migrant workers and salaried employees as most likely to experience workplace violence. More large firms offering MA plans as retiree benefits The number of large employers offering Medicare Advantage plans as retiree health benefits doubled from 26% in 2017 to 50% this year, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation analysis. Among companies with at least 1,000 employees, 42% cited lower cost as the primary reason for selecting MA plans, 14% said the plans offer flexibility for enrollees, and 8% said they offer better coverage options, among other reasons. More than 22% of close to 75,000 people -- or roughly 16,500 people -- surveyed said they experienced a type of violence or harassment at work. Among the most vulnerable are young people, migrant workers and salaried employees. Women were more likely than men to discuss their abuses. This data got me thinking. I wanted to take a pulse with all of you. Do we really think this can happen in our organizations -- and are we prepared to address it if it does?
