| | College is now free for young Minnesotans who were in foster care as teens | For the first time, Minnesota is helping young adults who experienced foster care at any point after turning 13 pay for the full cost of attending public, private and tribal colleges here. Minnesota is one of over 30 states that provide tuition waivers or scholarships to students who have experienced foster care. But advocates say FIG (the state's Fostering Independence Grants program) is the most comprehensive and easiest to access in the country. | |
