Monday Galatians 3:16 You, God, gave the promise to Abraham and his child. And notice that it doesn’t say the promise was to his children, as if it meant many descendants. But the promise was to his child–and that, of course, means You, Christ. Tuesday Galatians 3:17 This is what I am trying to say: The agreement You, God, made with Araham could not be canceled 430 years later when You, God, gave the law to Moses. You, God, would be breaking Your promise. Wednesday Galatians 3:18 For if the inheritance could be received only by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting Your promise, God. But You, God, gave it to Abraham as a promise. Thursday Galatians 3:19 Well then, why was the law given? It was given to show me how guilty I am. But this system of law was to last only until the coming of the child to whom Your promise, God, was made. And there is this further difference. You, God, gave Your laws to angels to give to Moses, who was the mediator between You, God, and the people. Friday Galatians 3:20 Now a mediator is needed if two people enter into an agreement, but You, God, acted on Your own when You made Your promise to Abraham. Zingers from Croft M.
